Good morning, beautiful souls! Even though the majority of my content is about food, health and recipes, I’ve received a barrage of inquiries regarding my skincare regimen lately – especially now that I’m 50 years old. With the sun shining, it’s the perfect moment to unveil my morning routine that keeps my skin glowing and youthful.
Every morning, I start my day with the exfoliating mask from Sisley. Conveniently, it takes only a minute and I like to apply it during my shower – I get it out of the way and it leaves my skin with a fresh flow. Once out of the shower, my lips get some love and hydration from my favorite balm, also from Sisley.
For toning, I swear by Lotion P50 from Biologique Recherche – specifically tailored for pigmentation, this toner has been my holy grail against skin pigmentation. Instead of swiping it on, I prefer to pat it gently with my hands.
I always start my serum regimen in the morning with Vitamin C — and I have tried a few different brands. I’ve currently been trying the TiZo Vitamin C serum, which I love because it merges the benefits of vitamins C and E which is essential for collagen synthesis. When it comes to my under-eyes, I’m a fan of Tula’s Rose Glow Eye Brightening Balm. Its cooling effect works wonders for puffiness, providing a noticeable brightening immediately. Another product I adore is the Beauty Pie Triple Hyaluronic Acid Lifting Serum. Hydration is so critical at my age, so I ensure this area receives maximum moisture. A quirky tip? I also apply eye cream between my brows, possibly a secret reason I’ve managed to elude those notorious ‘elevens’.
For the grand serum finale, I press on The Ordinary Multi-Peptide and Hyaluronic Acid — I also like to put most of my skincare on my hands — our hands can be telltale signs of age — so they shouldn’t be ignored! Before moisturizing, I spray a quick mist of May Lindstrom’s Jasmine Garden Facial mist and then press in CosRX Snail Mucin, followed by the Augustinus Bader’s Rich Cream moisturizer.
After this pampering, I usually keep my makeup simple – just a touch of concealer, a hint of bronzer, and a some eyeliner and mascara.
Before my skincare routine, I use a couple of gadgets:
1. Everyday, I start off with the Dr. Dennis Gross DRx SpectraLite FaceWare Pro Mask…although expensive, I’ve had mine for over four years and use it daily. It takes only 3 minutes and has done wonders for my fine lines and overall complexion.
2. A few times a week, I use the Ziip Halo Nanocurrent and Microcurrent Facial Toning Device which also has drastically improved the texture of my skin. Again, this device isn’t cheap, but it’s another one that will last years (I’ve had mine for 3+ years) and the results speak for themselves.
