A certified nutritionist and self-taught chef with a love for entertaining and experimenting with food, Lolita Carrico created Ketology after struggling for years with her own hormonal changes and weight gain. After having two children, she found that managing her weight and moods became more and more of a struggle. After researching the ketogenic diet thoroughly and understanding the science and nutritional aspects, she began her keto journey in 2018. Within three months, she shed 25 pounds and her mood improved, focus sharpened and her energy was through the roof. Four years later, she has maintained a 65-pound weight loss and has learned to intuitively follow a balanced keto lifestyle without sacrificing a thing!

As keto has become more mainstream and the benefits of reducing sugar have expanded beyond the keto and sugar-free dieters, more and more products have come to market to serve this burgeoning audience. While bio-dynamic and organic wines have been a cult favorite for years, a new crop of keto friendly wine has hit the shelves — some that we love, and some, not so much.

As a wine lover, I started experimenting with the ever growing keto friendly wine offerings a couple of years ago and certainly have my favorites. I’ll update this keto friendly wine list frequently as I make my way through more options and uncover the best keto wine finds but here are my top three go-tos for keto-approve wines:

  1. Dry Farm Wines
    Dry Farm Wines
is by far my favorite purveyor of low sugar wines. The subscription-based model delivers curated wine selections – based on your preference: three, six or twelve bottles of whites, red, rosé, sparkling or a mix – to try. If you like a selection from your monthly box, you can special order more bottles. I love their service because the wines are always fantastic and their customer service is phenomenal. I love that each box comes with little “Dry Farm certified” stickers you can put on your bottles to distinguish them from other bottles in your wine cabinet.
  2. Avaline
Co-founded by actress Cameron Diaz, Avaline is one of my new favorites and a I almost always have a few bottles of their red and rose on hand. Their red wine is my favorite to use in my Pomegranate Sangria which was a huge hit among friends and family during the holidays, and I love that you can find these low sugar, clean wines in most supermarkets too!
  3. Bev
Available in many supermarkets, offering same-day delivery in certain markets and free 2-day shipping everywhere, Bev (whose tagline is “Made by Chicks”) makes a variety of canned, sparkling wines that all have zero sugar and are pretty tasty. I almost always have these in the fridge for when friends come over – and everyone can agree they are tasty and the zero sugar is a bonus even for those not on keto. I love the Rose, Noir, and Blanc varieties the best, however I’ve tried them all and they’re all delicious.
  4. Secco Wine Club
Secco’s offers over a dozen low carb, keto / paleo friendly wines including some organic options and I love their $100 Wine Bundles where you get six bottles of a single variety or you can mix and match to try different wines.
