I love bagels. One of my first (and still so popular) recipes was for delicious keto bagels that are fantastic. As more and more companies start making keto baked goods, it’s still been a struggle to find a good, healthy low carb bagel. But, even though I just reviewed Unbun’s keto hamburger buns a few weeks ago, I’m following it up with this review of their low carb and keto bagels because they are worth another post!
As I mentioned in the previous review, Unbun uses clean, wholesome ingredients unlike make of the keto breads and baked goods you’ll find in stores. Grain-free and with only 5g of net carbs per bagel, and 10g of protein and 15g of healthy fats from eggs and flaxseeds, these bagels toast up perfectly and have the texture – a nice crust on the outside and dense, chewy inside – you want in a bagel without any of the guilt.
Bagels with cream cheese and lox is a family favorite, and I could easily have it every day and be happy…and while I love my keto bagel recipe, sometimes you want to be able to pull a good bagel out of the fridge and toast it up. I did just that this morning with the Unbun Plain Bagels — I have been storing them in the freezer and let them thaw for about 30 minutes before toasting. The cream cheese and smoked salmon with fresh cracked black pepper was the perfect way to break by fast today!
