After having two children, she found that managing her weight and moods became more and more of a struggle. After researching the ketogenic diet thoroughly and understanding the science and nutritional aspects, she began her keto journey in 2018. Within three months, she shed 25 pounds and her mood improved, focus sharpened and her energy was through the roof. Four years later, she has maintained a 65-pound weight loss and has learned to intuitively follow a balanced keto lifestyle without sacrificing a thing!

Chaffles – essentially keto friendly waffles made with a cheese (or cream cheese) and egg base instead of flour – are a keto miracle and can be used for everything from, well traditional waffles to keto bread alternatives for breakfast sandwiches and even desserts. Keto Chaffles recipes evolved since their pure and humble beginnings, and you can literally find dozens and dozens of keto chaffles recipes throughout the web.

One of the biggest requests we get is how to make chaffles, so finally, I’m sharing my favorite basic chaffle recipe and then two alternatives for sweeter, blueberry breakfast chaffles and a more savory chaffle option. I love to top the savory, Cheddar Jalapeno chaffle with lox and avocado and if I’m extra hungry, a poached egg. I use the basic keto chaffle recipe for sandwiches, as a side for eggs and bacon or spread almond butter on it for an easy snack.

My kids and I love making these – and the $9.99 mini Dash waffle maker is a keto kitchen must-have – that makes enjoying the perfect size chaffles anytime of day a breeze. If you have a bigger family, you might want to opt for a waffle maker that can make more than one at a time – Dash has a mini waffle maker that bakes 4 chaffles at a time for $39. What I love about experimenting on keto, is thinking outside of the box and trying new things…we recently used leftover taco meat, mixed it in with the cheddar jalapeno chaffle recipe and it was delicious and a perfectly compact little meal!
