Low Carb Cocktail Sauce for Shrimp Cocktail

Whether you’re on the keto diet or not, shrimp cocktail is always a delicious appetizer. Unfortunately, all that sugar in the ketchup-based sauce brings traditional cocktail sauce to over 15g of carbs per serving. This low carb cocktail sauce recipe comes in at about 2g of net carbs and you won’t miss any of the flavor!

Health Benefits of Shrimp

Shrimp is an excellent source of protein and omega 3 fatty acids which can help improve heart health. Shrimp is also a significant source of Astaxanthin, Selenium and Copper – all which help fight aging and protect us from cancer and other diseases.

What I love best about this low carb cocktail sauce recipe is that it literally takes a minute to make — you just mix up the ingredients and enjoy! I shot this quick video last night to show you how easy it is to whip up! And, you can store the sugar-free cocktail sauce in an airtight container for up to five days! I love Primal Kitchen’s organic, unsweetened ketchup which we always have on hand for burger night and it’s perfect for dipping jicama fries in too.

I usually serve shrimp cocktail as an appetizer along with a charcuterie board when I have guests over or when my sons and I feel like grazing in the late afternoon or when we want a simple, snack-y dinner.
